About the Course:

This course comprises an in-depth study of Bhagavad-Gītā, Śrī Īśopanisad, Nectar of Devotion, and Nectar of Instruction. It has been designed for devotees who have been seriously practicing Kṛṣṇa Consciousness for at least a year and have basic sastric knowledge and understanding.

A Preliminary Self-study guide is available once you have registered to prepare ahead of each lesson.

Course Requirements:

  • You must chant 16 rounds of Japa daily and follow the four regulative principles.
  • You must be recommended by an ISKCON authority who knows you well, certifying that you have been engaged favorably in the preaching mission of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu for at least the previous 12 months.
  • The Bhakti Sastri course requires the students to read all the 5 books, such as Bhagavad Gita, Nectar of Devotion, Nectar of Instruction, Ishopanishad, and Srila Prabhupada Lilamrita before commencing the course. We can accept your registration on your assurance that you will read these books at least once before coming for the course. This is required because the course is interactive and conducted as discussions and other group activities based on the books. So you must read these books to be able to participate and fully benefit from the course.
  • You must be 18 years or above in age.

Padmanayana Das, a dedicated disciple of H.H. Radha Govinda Dasa Goswami, hails from Balasore, Orissa. His academic journey includes the completion of a Bachelors in Science - Mathematics (Honors) from Utkal University in 1994, followed by Masters in Science. He joined ISKCON in 1994 with keen desire to commit to Kṛṣṇa Consciousness & subsequently he immersed himself in diverse roles to serve within ISKCON, contributing significantly to the Guest House, Book Distribution, and the International Devotee & Guest Care Department. His journey within ISKCON culminated in his role as the Director of the Mayapur Institute. To further deepen his understanding of spiritual principles, he has successfully completed the Bhakti-sastri and Bhakti-vaibhava courses at the Mayapur Institute. Additionally, he has honed his skills through specialized training programs, including Teachers Training Courses, Spiritual Leadership, Vaisnava Etiquette, ISKCON Disciples course, and Leadership & Management. His expertise extends to Deity Worship, having received qualification from the esteemed Mayapur Academy. In recognition of the importance of accessible spiritual education, Padmanayana Das has spearheaded the Gratis Courses & Bala-Bhagavatam program at the Mayapur Institute. This groundbreaking initiative has attracted a global audience, with over 3000 students enrolled to date, all studying scriptures without financial considerations. Beyond his administrative and academic pursuits, Padmanayana Das is an accomplished international preacher, fluent in English, Hindi, Oriya, and Bengali. Annually, he dedicates time to propagating Kṛṣṇa Consciousness in various countries, including the US, UK, Middle East, Canada, Africa, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, and others. At present, Padmanayana Das assumes the role of Chairman at the Mayapur Institute, where he directs efforts towards the realization of the Mayapur Institute's Campus Project. Envisioned by the ISKCON Founder Acarya, His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, this project aims to establish a comprehensive campus for systematic Vedic studies in Mayapur. The institute, under his leadership, continues to attract students from around the world, fostering spiritual understanding through dedicated education.
